RS Premier Jatinegara Appointed as a JPETS Panel Clinic for TB Screening for Japan
RS Premier Jatinegara has been officially appointed by the Japanese government as a Panel Clinic for the Japan Pre-Entry Tuberculosis Screening (JPETS) program. This designation provides an official tuberculosis (TB) screening option in East Jakarta for people who must meet health requirements before residing in Japan.
JPETS is a pre-entry TB screening program for nationals of designated countries, including Indonesia, who fall within the scope of specified residence requirements. Screening is conducted at Panel Clinics designated by the Japanese government so that eligible applicants can obtain an official TB Clearance Certificate.
According to information from the Japanese government, registration for JPETS screening in Indonesia is scheduled to open on 2 November 2026. The requirement to submit a TB Clearance Certificate when applying for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or visa is scheduled to take effect on 4 January 2027 for applicants covered by the program. A COE is a document issued by Japan’s immigration authorities relating to eligibility for a particular residence status and is distinct from a visa.
People planning to work, study, or reside in Japan for the medium to long term should review JPETS requirements. However, screening is not required for everyone travelling to Japan, as applicability depends on residence status and relevant exemptions.
People who need JPETS screening can obtain information about requirements, service schedules, and registration through RS Premier Jatinegara’s official channels. Program requirements and updates are available on the Japanese government’s official JPETS website at https://jpets.mhlw.go.jp/id/.
